May / June Newsletter

  • We are operating a strict policy that only members of same household can attend with a rider.
  • Visitors to ARC should not use public transport at the moment but should walk/cycle or drive to the centre.
  • We are operating a one-way policy to enter and exit the building. Entry is by the normal doors at reception and exit is by the external door to the right of reception as you pass the last stable.
  • We are limiting reception to one visitor only (plus our receptionist). Reception is big enough to ensure social distancing.
  • All visitors must wash their hands in one of the three facilities beside reception on arrival – we have hand soap and paper towels.
  • The vending machines can be used during this period, but the seating area is not to be used. Please take your coffee either into the arena or outside. There are wipes and spray beside the vending machine so you can wipe the buttons before selecting your drink.
  • Your horse’s equipment will be sanitised by the time you arrive to ride. Reins/stirrup leathers and stirrups are swapped between riders and cleaned.
  • You can either get your horse from the stable yourself or our staff are happy to help as normal. Please ensure that if our staff take your horse to the school that you respect social distancing with them too.
  • It is entirely at your discretion if you want to wear a soft mask whilst attending the stables and riding. We are happy with whatever you
  • are happy with. Riding is a low risk activity for coronavirus transmission as it is non-contact and done in plenty of fresh air.
  • It is also at your discretion whether you wear gloves. Please remember if wearing gloves, you must still maintain good biosecurity. Touch as few surfaces as possible and still wash your hands regularly.
  • Our staff have disposable gloves, soft masks and hand sanitisers on their person at all times, however we are not insisting they wear soft masks and gloves – these are, like with you, at their discretion. You will notice that the coach uses hand sanitiser or washes hands between each session.
  • We are keeping our riding school private lessons to flatwork for the month of June, as both our riders and our horses may be lacking fitness!
  • Once you have put your horse or pony away, our staff will sanitise the tack again.
  • Hands must be washed when leaving the premises.
  • There are 2 sanitising stations beside the school stables that you can get hand sanitiser from at any point during your time at ARC.
  • Our social distance policy is 2 metres within reception and between rider and coach. You will notice there are 6 metre bays marked out in the indoor building which is in preparation for semi-private and small group lessons in future – one household group per bay to spectate.
  • Our outdoor space is all available to members apart from the swings (and new exciting trampoline) until further notice. Do feel free to have a walk up our hardcore track or a seat outside with your coffee to enjoy the fresh air.
