THERAPY RIDING SESSIONS

The only sessions that we are cancelling with immediate effect are those riders who require more physical assistance to

mount – so some of our therapy riders and a couple of our mainstream members who have disabilities. This is because during our risk assessment, the other area that we felt we couldn’t control the risk adequately was those riders who our coaches had to have more physical contact with when mounting. Whilst our coaches are using hand sanitiser and washing hands very regularly, we are totally unwilling to risk transmission to our riders in this situation, so Ali will be in touch with those of you who are affected by this. Obviously, we still welcome these riders to come up and watch lessons, spend time with the horses and ponies and generally enjoy the club if they can during this time.

EASTER STABLE MANAGEMENT

It is too early to say at this point if we will need to make any changes to the Easter stable management course. If our staff remain healthy and we are able to still provide it, then we will do our utmost to make sure it runs. Higher risk areas such as lunch tables e.t.c. are already being regularly disinfected and we will simply increase this during stable management week. We will keep everyone booked onto stable management courses updated though.

RIDESAFE

Our current plan is to go ahead with the Ridesafe assessment that is scheduled for April, however we will obviously be taking advice and guidance from the British Horse Society on this and will keep those entered for it updated. If we have to cancel the training and assessment, then we will put another date on later in summer and carry bookings forward to it instead.

QUIZ NIGHT FUNDRAISER

Sadly, we had to make the decision to cancel our quiz night fundraiser which was scheduled to be this Saturday. Again, we felt it wasn’t wise to cram up to 60 people in a room to get merry and answer questions ☺ We will definitely be rescheduling this event and we would like to thank the Cults Hotel, who were very supportive of our cancellation and allowing us to reschedule.

UNCERTAIN TIMES

So, we are now moving into uncertain times with this virus. One thing we are guaranteed is that it will be an incredibly difficult time for all businesses and individuals will be worried about their jobs/income and family. We are trying to do everything we can at ARC to be supportive of members, but also to protect the health of the club as a business moving forward. We are currently looking into ways that we can provide videos/educational items online for our members both as a way of making sure that those who can’t attend can still feel involved but also to maintain our “team ARC” attitude which will help us all get through this!

Many thanks!
